    The Ultimate Twitter Guide

People seem to be of a mixed opinion about the value of Twitter. This mostly stems from the mixed results that users of Twitter have had when it comes to using the tool in terms of traffic and SEO. Keep reading for a guide that will help you get the most out of this micro-blogging tool.

Of course, like any web-based tool the results that you get are a direct result of the amount and the quality of the work that you put into it. That's why when you take a look at Twitter as a serious tool for promoting your SEO, you have to do it right from the start.

And that's why it's handy to have a road map on this trip. We will take you from signing up for the site to gaining a loyal following, and show you how to use Twitter to positively impact your SEO, making it an integral part of your SEO efforts for your site. That way, all of the time that you choose to use on Twitter will be productive time. After all, no one really enjoys spending their time on efforts that will yield them little or nothing in the way of results.

    Signing up for Twitter

The first thing that you have to do is make your way over to the Twitter site and sign up for an account. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the site, or who need an extra bit of security, these directions will help you to complete the sign up process without any fuss. On the whole, this process is relatively simple so you should not encounter any major issues:

    1. Open your web browser (or a new tab if you are reading this) and make your way to

    2. Once you are on the main page, click on the yellow button with the words "sign up new."

    3. Fill in the requested information. This consists of your full name (in one field), a user name, a password and your email address.

    4. Answer the question and click on the button that is labeled "create my account."

    5. When the email arrives, confirm your account.

Now that you have your account all set up and ready to go, it is time to sign in to your account. You can do this on the home page with either your username or your email address and your password. Once you have signed in to your account, it is time to set up your user profile.

Why should I bother to set up a profile?

A user profile lends credibility to your account. It also gives a potential follower a chance to get to know you, if only a little bit. It entices a reader into following you. A bare bones profile is one with very few followers, be sure of that.
