Promoting Your Site: How to Set Up a Cost Effective Ad Campaign with Any Budget - Ad Buying on a Larger Budget

    The 70 Dollar Ad Campaign

Focus: At 70 dollars a month you can spread yourself around a little bit and move between two options for multiple exposures. In this case, choosing between one large vendor and a smaller one is still a necessity, unless you have amazing persuasive powers and can talk down rates very easily. The goal here is to choose from a wider range of keywords to gain more exposure. On the bright side, you do have a few more choices at this point.

Ad venue: Google AdWords and a niche network.

Keywords used: XBOX 360 cheat codes, Playstation 3 walkthroughs and Nintendo Wii game walkthroughs.

Allocation: The 70 dollars is not all spent on the AdWords campaign, split in even thirds between the selected keyword combinations. Individual bids will vary by recommendation and competition, just as you did earlier. As for your smaller ad network, your will need to use your own research here. The goal is to find one that appeals to your topic niche as much as possible.

Ideal number of views per keyword: 130 views per keyword.

    The 100 Dollar Plan

At this point you can split the budget between a big vendor and a reasonably-priced site with a set sponsorship. Do not put more than half of your budget into sponsorship. Also, enjoy having your budget spread more generously between the original three keywords to avoid issues with having ads not displayed due to low bids.

Ad venue: Google AdWords and a sponsorship site of your choice.

Keywords used: XBOX 360 cheat codes, Playstation 3 walkthroughs and Nintendo Wii game walkthroughs.

Allocation: Spend no more than 70 dollars on the sponsorship, and the rest on AdWords, staying as close to the 30 dollar budget above as possible.

Ideal number of views per keyword: 100 views per keyword.

Now that you have seen some ad specifics, you can begin to formulate your own plan based on your needs, your keywords and your budget. Before you know it, you and your modest budget will be on your way to success in online advertising.
