How to Use Facebook for Promotion - Types of Facebook Pages

There are different types of Facebook pages, and youíll want to choose carefully if youíre using the site for promotional purposes.

Take a look at the right side of the home page. Pay careful attention, and youíll see there are two ways to create a Facebook page. You can simply sign up with your own first and last name, creating a personal page where you can touch base with friends, family, co-workers and acquaintances of all kinds.

Under this option, however, youíll see a second: pages for celebrities, businesses or bands. If you want to create a group, which is a different option, youíll have to first create a Facebook page of some sort.

For promotional purposes, itís likely youíll be focused on these latter Facebook options. Itís common for books, Web sites, blogs and others to have groups on the site -- but youíve got to start with a standard page. Click the bottom link to create a celebrity, band or business page, and get started.
