Get More Profit from the Traffic You Already Have

Getting more traffic and search visibility is number one on the list of all webmasters. Traffic is the lifeline of your website and SEO is the key to attaining it. In this article, weíll focus on how to get more out of the traffic you already have, how to build more persuasive site structures, and how to convert more visitors into customers.

Conversion, in marketing speak, is the action you want your customers to take. If your website sells black leather shoes, then conversion occurs when customers order black leather shoes through your website. Sometimes conversion occurs when visitors pick up a phone or visit your offline location (think of a lawyer or auto repair shop). The purpose of most websites is to:

    • Drive traffic (SEO, PPC, Banners)

    • Convert traffic into customers

Once you learn how to optimize your website and jump spots in search engines for targeted keywords in your industry, itís time to think about how to increase revenues with that traffic. There are two ways. If your website gets 1000 visitors per day and converts 20 people out of 1000, then your conversion rate is two percent. If you want to double your revenues you can:

    • Double the traffic to 2000 visitors per day (more SEO).

    • Double the conversion rate to four percent with existing traffic.

Your bank account will not care which route you take. Itís a matter of taking one with which you feel comfortable. If you are capable of doubling your traffic, then go for it, but keep in mind that you can only gain a certain level of visitors per day and a certain number of search engine spots. Once there, you must come up with ways to get more money with what you already have, and here we describe a practical way of doing it. Itís not easy, and it requires thorough research, but the results are well worth it.
