Not only will you want to participate in online forums or groups, you'll want to capitalize on them. You want to convince the users that you know what you’re talking about. In other words, you’re the guru. The best way to engage on this level is to use a Twitter search engine or scan tweets. This will help you to focus on specific issues.

You also want to make sure that you scan the "@ replies" area, which will be located on the right side of your Twitter page. This section shows all of the tweets who have posted messages. That way, you can respond to them quickly and easily. You can also try using Mr Tweet. This tool will point you to the followers you might want to follow up on. If fellow Twitts trust your expertise, they’ll likely want to conduct business with you.

If you want to see how your profile stacks up against the whole Twitter community, you will want to take advantage of the Twitter Grader tool. In addition, Twitter Grader will identify the top tweets in your local area.

Perhaps you want to dig a little deeper and learn more information about a tweet. You can use to look for the tweet’s contact information, such as name, location, and job title. You can also read the tweet’s biography.

Are you looking to be more creative? Why not have competitions. You will certainly create a following. You’ll want to make sure to publicize your competition before it happens.

As previously stated, you’ll want to tweet frequently. This is crucial to building your community. One way to keep this going is to create live or pre-scheduled tweets for specific times. Once again, do a Google search and you will see applications for this tool. One of the applications you should look at is HootSuite. This application not only allows you to create pre-scheduled tweets, but you can manage many Twitter profiles.

After you have gotten a group of tweets, you should think about having an online seminar. You can take advantage of the many online seminar services on the Internet. To find one, you just do a Google search, and you’ll see the various applications. This is the best avenue to talk about the services or products that you offer.

Just because you’re out of the office doesn’t mean you can’t tweet. If you’re waiting for the bus or you’re having lunch, you can use Twitter mobile applications, such as Twitter for iPhone and TwitterBerry. You can take advantage of these applications to update your post by using your mobile phone. That way you can respond to to questions or comments.
