Once you know which basic elements you’re going to include on your page, you can start to think about basic layouts that help you start simplifying page design. Get a vague idea of how you might like your pages to look: a basic outline for your site. No need to get specific; just think about all those main elements you’d like to include on the page itself.
No matter how crude or basic your layout sketch may be, what you have is the beginnings of a great Web page. Now, it’s time to take your design skills and apply them to the rest of the site.
