Optimize Your Blog - Why Blog?

If search engines rely on keywords and your site needs keywords to get their attention, it’s a good idea to put plenty of content on your Web site, right? This is one of the reason blogs are so attractive to Web sites.

Blogs, short for Web logs, are comprised of short pieces of content (usually averaging around 300 words per blog post) displayed over several different Web pages. Blogs are updated at regular, and frequent, intervals. They offer lots of content, which might mean lots of keywords.

Blogs are written in an impersonal, friendly voice and often deal with day-to-day events and personal musings. They’re casual, easy to read and usually have something new to offer to readers. Your site’s blog can potentially be a rich source of content -- but only if you’re writing it the right way.
