Optimize Your Blog
Youíre very careful to use keywords in your siteís navigation. You make sure your articles are crisp, keyword-focused and rich in links. You spend time putting all the right META tags in place so search engines will recognize your site. You worry about search engine optimization -- up to a point. Think that SEO is intended only for certain types of content? You probably need to optimize your blog.
Many writers and site masters place a lot of emphasis on their keywords when it comes to general and article pages on the Web. They worry about link placement, using the right phrasing and putting effort into their SEO. Then, they go to create a new blog post -- and just write whatever the heck they want. If you arenít optimizing your blog, you just arenít optimizing at all.
Search engine optimization isnít just a popular trend on the World Wide Web -- itís a primary obsession. Itís your key to gaining traffic, your answer to gaining attention, your only way to be found among the mass of information called the Internet. If you arenít thinking about SEO, you just arenít creating a strong presence on the Web.
Search engines like Google and Yahoo (in fact, all of them) rely heavily on keywords. You know the drill: you go to the blank search box, type in a few words and watch the results appear as if by magic. Only, it isnít magic. Itís SEO -- and itís important, because itís the only way traffic has to find your site. What words will they type to find you?
When you start thinking along those lines, youíve already started the process of optimizing your site.
