I own and operate a variety of different websites and businesses.I’m always amazed at how many emails I get each day from people asking me how they can make a lot of money without spending a dime. I actually had someone ask me if I could show them how to make 1 million dollars in 3 months! I don’t know if this was for real, but the person sure sounded serious.
The fact is, no matter what business you do, online or off, being successful is hard work. I lost many thousands of dollars my first year doing online marketing and I thought I knew what I was doing. I read everything. I tried everything. I had no idea why I was losing money when it seemed like everyone else was making money around me. Until one day a light went off in my head and I just got it. It was a combination of all the things I had learned and read about but I was applying this knowledge in the wrong way. I thought there were shortcuts. I thought I didn’t have to do all that “extra stuff” because I knew what I was doing. Well, after losing so much money I finally realized, there are no shortcuts.
If you want to be successful in business, you have to do something you enjoy, become knowledgeable in the business and expect to spend money to get it going. Nobody is going to give you everything for free. You know the companies who give out free websites to people? You know who’s making money? The company giving out the sites is making the money. Companies give away so-called “free stuff” because people eat these things up like candy. In the end, people realize these freebies are worth every penny you spent on them. Nothing. They’re nothing but a waste of time and energy you could have better spent growing a real online business.
