Keeping Up With the Googles - The Popular Vote
(Page 5 of 5 )
Not all Internet trends fade away quickly and not all fads disappear after days. Some things, like streaming video and RSS feeds, actually stick around for a while and help dictate the entire Internet.
By featuring trends on your site quickly, while they’re still becoming hot, you’ll show that your site knows what’s current. You’ll show that you pay attention to what traffic wants.
And you will be rewarded. When you give traffic what it’s searching for, when you feature the fads that make them tick, you’re getting the popular vote from Internet users. You’re getting more hits.
You help them by providing what they’re looking for; they help you by visiting your pages. Even Google was just another Internet site once; it just had webmasters who were smart enough to spot certain trends while they were still forming.
Who knows what you might do with your own pages when you follow the fads?
