    How to build an opt-in-list?
    by David Lauro

Every where you surf on the Internet, every ebook you read, the #1 action that you must take, in order to make money, is to build your own opt-in-list.

The people who are making money on the Internet, are the those who have built a large opt-in-list. They have cultivated, nurtured, and built a trust with their list and can then follow up with their list at any time with a new product or opportunity.

Regardless of weather you are promoting affiliate programs, multilevel marketing opportunities, or your own products, if you want to make money, and lets face it, if you are reading this, you surly are interested in making money, you must build your list and follow up with your potential customers.

The question you are probable asking yourself is this is great, but how do you build an opt-in-list and follow up with them?

Well I am going to show you how!

If building an opt-in-list is #1 priority, then #1A is getting people to your site. You might be very good at getting traffic to your site, but if this traffic just checks your site then leaves but they don't make any purchases, then you've lost that person forever. The key here is to collect that persons email address so you can follow up with them.

There are many ways to collect the email addresses and follow up
with your visitor. The first thing you must do, is to set up an autoresponder, that will send out your messages to your visitor automatically.

Your autoresponder can be set up with a series of compelling messages
to encouraging your subscribers to buy your products or join your business. It could be in the form or an ezine or newsletter that you send out daily weakly, monthly or how ever often you like.

Once you have your autoresponder set up you need ways for your site visitors or customers to subscribe to your autoresponder or ezine.

There are many ways to collect these email address, some are fee others
    Require a small investment.

I will fist mention free methods. The fist method is to put a subscription box on your web site that is linked to your autoresponder, you also can do this, by placing pop-up or a pop under on your site. So when some one visits your site they well see a way to get free information about your site.

One of the best methods to building a large opt-in list, is to offer a an ezine or newsletter. There are several benefits to using this method. Having your own ezine will allow you to build trust with your subscribers. You will be able to promote your products, and opportunities for free, explaining the benefits of your products, or simply delivering information that will teach them about a particular subject they are interested in receiving. If nothing else, an ezine will simple get more traffic to your site.

There are both free and paid methods to get subscribers to your ezine.

You can of course use the first method I mentioned above, which is to put a subscription form on your site.

Another method, is to post your ezine to ezine directories, this is free, and can get your ezine seen by 1000's of potential subscribers.

You can also prepare an announcement of your new ezine, and send it to announcement lists, which are lists that will send your announcement to all subscribers, for free.

A third method is to write a article on a particular subject and put a resources box at the end explaining where people can get more information, visit your site, subscribe to your ezine. Then send it to ezine publishers, who are always looking for content for their ezines.
If they use your article, you could potentially get massive exposure to your ezine for free.

Another free method is ad swapping. Where by you offer an ezine publisher an opportunity to put their ad in your ezine for your ad in their ezine.

I highly recommend using EzineAnnouncer to automate much of the posting, ezine & article submissions. You can get a copy at http://www.ezineannouncer.com/cgi-bin/x.cgi?aid=2427

    Now for the paid methods.

You could post a solo or top sponsor
Ad in ezines. There are 1000,s of good ezine where, for a fee,
your can send your ad to the ezine subscribers.

You could use co-register services, this method is a bit more expensive, but you are guaranteed the number of subscribers that you purchase.

I want to add regardless of weather you are using free or paid methods
to build your list, it is a good practice to offer some thing free to entice people to subscribe to your ezine. This can be in the form of a free ecourse, ebook, or discount on a product you are promoting.

In conclusion here are the steps you should follow in building an opt-in-list:

    - Purchase or apply for a free autoresponder
    - Set it up with your follow up messages
    - Put a way for site visitors to subscribe to your autoresponder on your site
    - Start your own ezine or newsletter
    - Promote your ezine:
    o Use ezine directories
    o Use ezine announcement lists
o Write articles to send to ezine publishers
    o Use ad swapping
o Buy solo or top sponsor ads in other ezins
o Purchase subscribers form co-register companies
