A Review of Newsletter Emailing Software - EliteEmail

The final newsletter mailer which I reviewed, EliteEmail, offered a unique package at a low price. EliteEmail’s price tag comes in quite cheap ($10/month), but does so by offering significantly less. Rather than limiting your campaign by contacts, EliteEmail allows you to send up to 1,000 e-mails per month. Although this could be convenient for low-contact, high-volume newsletters, most people find this to be a severe limitation. The plan does upgrade well, and offers an option to upgrade your account to have unlimited e-mails every month.

EliteEmail only offers between 200 and 300 templates with its basic package, though this is still much more than enough for the casual newsletter. Custom template designs are very affordable at only $125. One major setback to EliteEmail’s value is that removing branding from your newsletter is a large one-time fee of $249. This is very inconvenient for anyone that minds any kind of invasion to their newsletter. This down side is somewhat offset by the offer of free hosting of unlimited images and free e-mail archiving. This is the cheapest plan to offer these additions free of charge.

The free trial of EliteEmail will allow you to send up to 1,000 e-mails. This method actually works fairly well, since you will not need to send more than one or two test newsletters to understand how the package works. It also gives you a good indication of how well you will be able to manage the basic limit of 1,000 e-mails per month. The customer service is helpful and is available from 9 A.M. until 8 P.M. The software also comes with a convenient “getting started” guide. Although EliteEmail does not offer any discount for prepayment, it does offer a standard 20% discount to non-profit organizations.

As opposed to OnMarketer, EliteEmail is very specific in the type of lists it can import. It only handles .csv files, and requires that they have very rigid header styles. This inconvenience is marginally offset by the fact that the free trial of EliteEmail will also allow you to try out the other software by Elite, including site builder, web hosting, employee scheduler, and recruitment manager. EliteEmail also offers the unique service of an online image editor to help you tailor images to your custom needs for your newsletter.

To summarize, EliteEmail offers a unique feature-set at a low price. The largest downside of the bundle is the high cost of removing EliteEmail’s branding from your newsletters.
