Optimizing for Google - High Google Rankings
(Page 2 of 3 )
What keywords and phrases have you emphasized on your site’s content? What overall theme or phrase describes your site? You should be able to pick out a few words that seem to broadly describe what your site has to offer. Just think about what you might type if you were looking for a site like your own. Enter these words into Google’s search engine and find out what happens.
If your site is already shining at the top of the Google list, you already know a thing or two about optimizing for Google. Chances are, however, you could stand to improve your site’s standing a little bit.
Take a look at the sites which are the most popular with Google currently. Notice how they use (and how often they use) those phrases you’ve tried to emphasize on your own pages. Get a feel for these popular sites and pay attention to what they’re doing -- because what they’re doing is absolutely working for them. Part of optimizing for Google is getting a feel for the competition, because it’s your job to one-up the other sites which are working with the same keywords as you.
Want to learn how to achieve high Google rankings of your own? When optimizing for Google, the keywords you use -- and how you use them -- mean everything.
