Monetization: How Not to Put Multiple Ad Vendors on Your Blog
(Page 1 of 4 )
All bloggers have a love of writing. Many of them have dreams of adding to their own personal wealth. The most logical way to do that is by a process called monetization. Monetization for a blog is the process of putting ads onto your website. It's not quite as simple as it sounds, however. If you want to monetize your blog successfully, keep reading.
The success of the monetization of your site depends on many factors. Some of those factors can not be controlled, but some of them can be very directly influenced. One of the most important things that a blog owner can do is to place their ads wisely. When you are using only one type of ad this can usually be accomplished quite easily. It is when multiple types of ads are integrated into a site that things can become a bit more complex.
That is where this guide comes in. It can help you figure out how to use the different types of ads that you have on your site without alienating any of your viewers. After all, monetization is mostly a numbers game. Before we talk about placement strategy we should cover some of the monetization basics. That way we can be sure that we are on the same page when we talk about placement.
What are the goals of monetization?
The goal when you monetize your site is simple: to make money by advertising products or services that will be of interest to the readers of your blog. Ideally, you want your readers to click on the ads and maybe even buy from your sponsor's site. Of course, achieving this goal means that you will have to create some sub goals. What are these sub goals?
To place ads in a way that draws attention to them without making them the focus of your site.
To encourage readers to click on ads without having to explicitly state this.
To blend ads in a way that makes them a natural part of your site.
If you can achieve these three goals, then your monetization stands a good chance of being successful.
