Make Your Online Ads Prominent on the Page - Prominent…Not Overpowering

You do want your ads to be prominent and to draw the eye, but you don’t want them to completely overwhelm the viewer (and the rest of the page). There are, after all, many other elements on your site as well.

Good page design is one that finds a way to balance all the elements of a page so that they complement each other and look natural. When the eye can naturally take in everything and feels naturally drawn down the page, you’ve achieved great page design.

Placing ads prominently doesn’t mean using the loudest colors and fonts you can find. In fact, ads that blend into the page and seem to match the rest of the site are often the most effective. Don’t make your ads prominent by making them over-large or over-bright; make them prominent through their placement on the page.

You’ll find that most ads are completely customizable, so you’re in control of the colors and sizes of advertisements being used on your pages. Choose something that complements the rest of the site, rather than drowning it out.
