How to Give Your Site an SEO Makeover

So, you have put yourself, heart and soul, into your current project. You've invested time, energy, money and a little bit of your blood to get your site up and running. These efforts, however, have proven to be only marginally effective, and maybe they have even stalled completely. An SEO makeover can help you draw in more readers and turn your labor of love into a success.

    Will it be hard?

Well, that depends on the condition your site is in right now. Some people's natural writing style meshes well with search engine parameters. Others are not so lucky. That, along with a myriad of other factors, will help to determine how much effort is needed to improve your site.

On the whole, you should probably expect this to be a lengthy and time-consuming process. The SEO makeover is a marathon, not a sprint. Expect to set aside a few hours to go over and alter your content. As for other aspects, like building links and managing feeds, expect these tasks to be measured in weeks, not hours.

While that may sound like too much trouble, you should consider that when properly done, an SEO makeover can be rewarding for years to come as an increasing number of readers find their way to your site.

Starting a site is a lot like training a pet. You may not get results during the first session, but by the end the value is clear. It is a process. Try to rush it and you will be disappointed by the haphazard results that you get in return for your efforts. It may be slow going in the beginning, but stick with it; you will be rewarded.

How much is this going to cost me?

Do not worry. Since most of us do not have a lot of spare cash to throw around, even if you did have the cash to spend on your site, there are a lot of other places to spend it. That is why all of the tools that you will find in this piece are free to use. They may have a paid section, but the specific tool you will be using is free of charge.

That is not to say that, if you have already bought a tool with a similar function to one of the listed tools, you should abandon it. Feel free to use any tool with which you happen to be comfortable as long as it provides you with the information that you need in order to get your analysis done.

The free tools are only listed so that site owners of any budget can play along and get their site to its desired level of popularity. The tools should not require you to register in order to see your results, though you can feel free to register with them if you want long term tracking or another enticing feature.
