    How to 301 Redirect Blogspot Blogs to Custom Domains - Configuration in the Blogger dashboard control panel

    (Page 4 of 4 )

    It may take up to 24 hours for this to take effect, according to Google, but in my experience, I have observed that this may work in less than 24 hours if there are no configuration problems.

    This is the last but the most important procedure that you need to do. Sign in to your Blogger account and go to Dashboard. Click your active blog (which will to be redirected to the custom domain) and go to “Settings,” and then “Publishing.”

    Set the following to:

    Your domain: {type your custom domain }

    Check “redirect non www version of your domain to www version

    Check “NO” for “Use a missing files host?”

    See the screenshot below:

    Again to test if the configuration works, try going to: , and then type the complete URL of your active blog (which is to be redirected to the custom domain) as a real example: . Now looking at the status code return, it is:

    HTTP/1.0 301 Moved Permanently with redirect target:

    Lastly, if you type in the browser, it will display the Blogger templates you have selected with your content (if there are any). When you add new content to your custom domain, simply use your Blogger account in doing this, just as you do when you have a ordinary blog and not a custom domain.
