Step 3. Effective domain registration.
In our step 2 example, we decided to go for USEDMOBILEPHONES. The next step is to register the domain. The most recommended and user-friendly registrar is www.godaddy.com . All you have to do is go to their website and type in your domain name in their "Start a domain name search box." Go Daddy will then give you information as to whether the domain name is available in different TLDs.
TLD is an abbreviation for "top-level domain." Examples of TLDs include .com, .net. .org. .us and many others. You can read a complete list of TLDs here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Internet_top-level_domains .
Effective domain registration means you are able to register the domain in your name and it belongs to a related TLD. So when you type USEDMOBILEPHONES, it will give the following results:
Based on the results, it says that the .com TLD is not available anymore. The most relevant domain will now be: USEDMOBILEPHONES.US (remember, we set the goal of being a trusted used phone seller in the US market). You can log in to Go Daddy and continue to register the domain.
Step 4. Content and Website Development
Content is king. After registering your domain, you may consider hiring a web developer to make your site and upload your content. Always keep this in mind: you want to be the best source of information in your selected niche.
Web development and content development can take at most one month to complete. The content for the site may be skeletal, but it's essential, and should exactly contains what the customer will be looking for. Updating content is very important also. Make it a habit.
Step 5. Search engine optimization and marketing.
This is a broad topic, and to quickly establish domain authority after you have lots of golden content in your site, you'll need to have related expert sites link to yours. Concentrate at least getting one link from a highly related expert site, rather than building a hundred to thousands low quality links.
This strategy works. When Google sees your site is trusted because of its content and links, you will quickly establish authority. And with a properly-selected domain name, returning visitors to the site and keywords in anchor text using your domain name can further strengthen your position.
