LiveJournal: Blogs for All - How to Blog with LiveJournal
(Page 3 of 4 )
You’ve signed up, you’ve created a profile, you’ve decided upon an account type (you can always upgrade your account at any time, should you choose to do so. You can also enjoy LiveJournal’s free service as long as you like). Now, it’s time to get to the business of blogging.

You’re ready to move on with LiveJournal. After finishing your signup process, you can choose to post an entry, upload pictures, find groups or people by interest, further customize your journal, edit your profile or simply browse around the site. LiveJournal gives you a lot to do other than blog -- but the main purpose of the site is to create a personal space that’s all your own to use. Why not start exploring blogging with LiveJournal?
When you click “Post your first entry,” you’ll be taken directly to LiveJournal’s text editor. Inside this white box you can begin to create your blog. Use the toolbar at the top to change the look of the text using bold, underline or other font features. The toolbar helps you create lists, add links or even place pictures, so you create exactly what you wish with every single post.
Under the text editor, you’ll see several options which help you further customize your post. You can choose a mood, your location, the music you’re listening to at the time or write tags (for search engines) to attach to your post. There are also pull-down menus which help you decide how and when people can (or can’t) comment on your words.
A pull-down menu near the bottom of the page allows you to set the availability of your entry. You can choose to make this post completely public, restrict it just to friends, save it for your eyes only or even select custom settings to help you get specific with your blog’s readability.
