For some, that’s no choice at all; why pay for what you can get for free? But there’s a little more to it than free vs. fee when it comes to Web site creation. It’s a good idea to start out with a free Web site and get used to the idea of building pages and drawing in traffic before considering making a purchase, however, because there’s a lot that goes into actually owning a site (and being responsible for everything that goes along with it).
You can always sign up to create a site, free of charge, through any number of hosting sites. Yahoo, Bravehost, Tripod and many others offer this service. You sign up for an account with the host and suddenly you have your very own space to play with. Often, these hosting sites offer many user-friendly tools and features, even tutorials, to make page creation that much easier.
