Blogging with Blogger - Posting Entries
Posting an entry is not hard by any means. If you've ever sent an email or posted in a forum, then this should really be one of the simpler things you've ever done. In the control panel, select the tab labeled Posting and make sure you are in the Create page. If you want, give your post a title, just be sure to add the most insightful/asinine post ever in the box below the title box. When you are done, click the Publish Post button. That's it! There are the standard formatting options (bold, italic, spell-check, etc.) that you'll see in most email systems and forums. You can use them to spice up your entry as you would in any text editor.
You should also notice a tab above the main entry box labeled Edit Html. You can use this to manually code your formats or use HTML tags that are not shown in the standard format icons. As far as editing an entry that has already been published, just go back to the Posting tab in the control panel and select Edit Posts. From there, you can select whatever post you want to edit or delete. If you click edit, you can change the post the same way you would write an original entry. You can also change the time and date of the entry's publication, according to when you want it to be published.
Inserting an image is a common, yet extremely effective way to add to your blog entry. And Blogger helps take all the technical mumbo jumbo out of your hands by formatting it into your entry and making it so that even if it is a rather large image, visitors can click on the formatted image and see it full-size on another page. Again, this process is very similar to uploading an image in an email or forum.
You add images when you are creating or editing an entry. So, on the Create page of the Posting Tab, select the Add Image icon; a pop-up window will appear. You can select the image either from your computer (click Browse and find your image) or from the web (copy the image's URL into the box). You can then choose the image's layout (where it will be in the post) and size (small, medium or large). Remember, a small image can be clicked on and viewed full-size in another window. Click Upload Image and then Done. You can add more than one image per blog entry. If you are done with the post, click Publish Post and enjoy the image goodness.
The next section will go over the techniques that can be used to make your blog more personal.
