Blogger Classic Vs New (Beta) Blogger Templates - Blogger Template Flow Selection and Basic Differences
(Page 2 of 4 )
From Beta to Classic Version
As I mentioned, any new blog that is registered in Blogger is by default given the Beta version of the template. If you want to select the classic template, you must go through the following procedure:
Blog registration
Google Blogger by default uses the Beta version
The Blogger user selects one of the following sub-templates under the Beta version:
Minima
Minima Black
Dots
Son of Moto
No. 897
Scribe
Tictac
Thisaway Rose
Snapshot
Rounders 3
Dots Dark
Sand Dollar
The Blogger user can change it to the Classic template in the Dashboard---Layout-Edit HTML---Revert to Classic Template
This template is now set to the Classic version but still using the same sub-templates. So for example, "Minima Black" is selected in step 3.2; at this step, then, it is called the "Minima Black Classic Version" template.
The Blogger user can now customize the Classic version template.
If the blogger decides to use the Beta version, they do not go through steps four through six. The immediate differences between Beta and Classic are that Classic does not have "Page elements" and "Layout." All of the customization options in Classic are found in what is called the "Template."
The Beta version is meant to give a better user experience in Blogger, and it does. The Classic version is not user-friendly for those with no HTML or programming background.
Also in the Beta version, any Blogger who does not understand HTML can arrange important page elements very easily, such as the header, navigational components, post body portion, footer portion and others; they can even add AdSense banners. But take note, the ease of arranging the page elements in the Beta version does not necessarily translate to great results in terms of the blog reader's experience and getting attention from search engines.
While in the Classic version, the blogger needs to modify the HTML code directly in the template to change the page elements.
